Low-threshold clubs

A club is first and foremost a place where it doesn’t rain. One room or two.
Imagine the space where you spent time when you were growing up. The living room in your house, your friend’s playroom, or the scout clubhouse. Add a couch, foosball table, computer, art supplies and board games.
However, the club is made up mostly of people and their stories. It is a place where children and young people can come at a designated time, spend time with their peers and pursue what they enjoy. They have the support of staff with whom they can share their joys and worries. We organize leisure and educational activities for children and teenagers that they enjoy.

We offer them a meaningful and safe way to spend their free time. We provide a space for them to make new friends.

Who comes to us?

Children and young people aged 9 to 26 who lack a space to be active in their free time. Some of them lack a person to confide in. They need support and encouragement as they grow up – in the areas of group relationships, school, substance abuse and taking responsibility for their behavior.

Streetwork

Social workers go out into the locality, tries to get to know it and map where children and young people spend their free time. They find out what young people need, respond to them and encourage them to take an active interest in their surroundings.

Young people aged 9 to 26 who spend their free time mostly outdoors, often passively, in a peer group. They often have experience of risky behaviors such as truancy, substance use, and damage to public spaces. Young adults, in turn, face problems entering the labor market.

We provide information to those we meet in the field to reduce their risky behavior. We provide them with counseling and hand out small prevention materials and information leaflets.

Clubs and the Streetwork Program Autobus and HoPo work with adolescents aged 9 to 26 who spend time in the Prague 14, 20 and 21 areas, offering them support primarily in the challenges of growing up, but also in other areas of their lives, and in dealing with difficult life situations.

We strive to ensure that adolescents are aware of the consequences of their behavior, take responsibility for it and are able to use resources (their own and those in their existing network) to improve the quality of their lives.

We achieve these goals through preventive action, creating safe conditions for leisure time and strengthening competences that lead to a reduction in risky behavior.
